The court gave Abubakar Kusada a seat in the House of Representatives in Katsina
The Federal Assembly Election Appeals Court in Katsina state in northern Nigeria has annulled the election of Dalha Ismail Kusada as a member of the House of Representatives.
In its ruling on Thursday, the three-judge court led by Justice O. Ogunfowora said Abubakar Yahaya Kusada of the APC won the February election.
Also, the judges declared Abubakar as a member of parliament representing Kankia/Ingawa/Kusada constituencies.
Also, the court ordered Dalha and the Electoral Commission Inec - the defendants - to pay Abubakar 200,000 naira.
It would have been Abubakar who held the seat before Inec announced his defeat shortly after the election, and the former Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly.
However, Dalha Kusada still has the right to challenge the decision in the Court of Appeal.
