 Nigeria signed an agreement with Cuba to supply food


The Nigerian government signed an agreement with Cuba to provide food and technology for agricultural development.


The minister of agricultural resources and food supply Senator Abubakar Kyari signed on behalf of the Nigerian government during the meeting of the G-77 group of developing countries that took place in Havana, Cuba.


In the X message that the vice president of Nigeria, Kashim Shettima - who represents the president at the meeting - published, he said that the agreement will strengthen agricultural relations between the two countries.


Senator Abubakar Kyari praised the Cuban government for concluding the agreement, saying that both countries have the same aspirations for their people.


The minister expressed his happiness over this agreement which he said will help solve the many problems Nigeria is facing in the food and agriculture sector.


He said that Nigeria is ready to join hands with Cuba in the areas of poultry and large animals and fish farming.


The areas that the agreement will focus on include the supply of veterinary drugs, the provision of vaccinations and sterilization of animals and other areas.
