 Tinubu Appoints New CBN Governor And Management Committee After The Senate Checks And Confirms

President Bola Tinubu approved the appointment of Dr. Olayemi Michael Cardoso as the new governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), for a period of five (5) years, until he is confirmed by the Senate of Nigeria according to a statement issued by Tinubu's spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale.

This order is in line with section 8 (1) of the Central Bank of Nigeria Act of 2007, which empowers the President of the Federation of Nigeria to appoint a governor and four (4) deputy governors of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), even if he The Senate of the Federation of Nigeria confirmed this.

In addition, President Bola Tinubu approved the appointment of the new Deputy Governors of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), for a period of five (5) years, until the Senate of Nigeria confirms them, as listed below:
